Where your money goes.

Transparency & Trust: Where Your Money Goes

Our Commitment to Openness

Machine Knitting Central is a digital rescue mission, but running a massive archive is not free. When you choose to make a donation, you are not lining anyone’s pockets; you are actively funding the tools and technology needed to protect this endangered craft.

Because we are a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), we are legally bound to transparency and operate strictly as a not-for-profit organisation. Every penny we receive is reinvested back into the community.

How Your Donation is Priority-Funded

Here is exactly how your support is allocated, following a strict “Archive First” priority:

  1. Keeping the Archive Online (Priority 1): Our first and foremost obligation is to the archive itself. Your donations pay for the essential web hosting servers, daily secure backups, domain name renewals, SSL security certificates, and general technical maintenance needed to keep our thousands of digital publications freely accessible to the world.

  2. Community Reinvestment (Surplus Only): In the wonderful event that our hosting costs are fully covered, any left-over funds (surplus) are diverted to support other incredible community projects run by North End Farm CIC. We fund local, grassroots initiatives that foster creativity, sustainability, and community well-being.
